Senior Landscape Architect
About this role
Jasmax is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our Auckland studio and help shape meaningful, enduring places across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
About Jasmax:
Jasmax is a multi-award-winning architecture and design practice with studios across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. With over 250 staff members, Jasmax offers multi-disciplinary expertise and integrated design solutions across architecture, landscape, interior design, and urban design to deliver complex projects across all sectors, from city-shaping infrastructure to local community spaces.
The role:
This is an opportunity for an experienced landscape architect to take on a meaningful senior leadership role in the next stage of growth for our Landscape practice across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. We are open to someone already operating at a senior or Principal level, or someone with the design maturity, client credibility and leadership capability to step towards a future Principal role. The position brings together design direction, project leadership, client engagement and practice-building, with a focus on creating work that is thoughtful, resilient and deeply connected to people and place.
Working closely with the existing Landscape leadership team and the wider Jasmax leadership group, you will help shape the direction, quality and profile of the practice. This will include guiding teams, strengthening client and market relationships, contributing to bids and submissions, and helping build a strong pipeline of landscape work across public realm, infrastructure, civic, education and community sectors. You will bring strategic perspective, sound commercial judgement and practical delivery experience, with the confidence to build trust, lead conversations and translate ambitious ideas into well-resolved outcomes.
For the right person, this role offers a genuine opportunity to influence the next chapter of Jasmax’s Landscape practice, its design culture, client relationships, regional opportunities and contribution to significant city-shaping and community-focused projects.
Attributes, Skills and Experience:
- A registered Senior Landscape Architect with a strong portfolio of work from concept through to construction completion.
- Strong design judgement, project delivery leadership and commercial awareness.
- A collaborative leadership style that builds capability, confidence and momentum through mentoring, critique and shared endeavour.
- A commitment to design excellence, sustainability and practice leadership, helping shape the future direction, reputation and impact of the Landscape team.
- An outward-looking, relationship-led approach, with the credibility to build trusted partnerships with clients, collaborators, consultants and industry stakeholders across Aotearoa New Zealand.
- Confidence representing Jasmax through client presentations, workshops, interviews, submissions and industry engagement.
- A strategic, market-aware mindset, with the ability, or potential, to identify and pursue opportunities across public realm, infrastructure, education, civic, regeneration and related sectors.
