Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Fabric Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, and modern cloud-based analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and related Azure services.
This role will be responsible for building scalable data platforms, driving data modernization initiatives, establishing best practices, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft Fabric Platform Leadership

  • Lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise data platforms using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Architect and develop end-to-end data solutions utilizing Fabric Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time Analytics, and OneLake.
  • Establish Fabric architecture standards, data engineering best practices, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive enterprise adoption of Microsoft Fabric capabilities and roadmap initiatives.

Azure Data Engineering

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, and Azure-native services.
  • Develop ELT/ETL processes for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows.
  • Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems, cloud applications, APIs, and databases.

Data Architecture & Modeling

  • Design and maintain Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Create dimensional models, star schemas, and data marts to support reporting and analytics.
  • Develop data models optimized for Power BI and self-service analytics.

Data Storage & Analytics

  • Implement and manage:
    • Microsoft OneLake
    • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
    • Fabric Lakehouse
    • Fabric Data Warehouse
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Optimize storage, query performance, and data lifecycle management.

Data Governance & Security

  • Implement data governance, lineage, cataloging, and metadata management.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Configure role-based access controls (RBAC), data masking, and security standards.
  • Support data quality and master data management initiatives.

Performance Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize Fabric workloads and Azure data services.
  • Improve query performance, pipeline execution times, and storage efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor data engineers and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, data scientists, and BI teams.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive project planning, estimation, and technical delivery.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Analytics.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong experience designing enterprise-scale Azure Data platforms.
  • Experience leading large-scale cloud migration and modernization projects.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering complex data solutions.
