About the Role
We're looking for a Senior/Lead QA Engineer who can independently own quality across web, mobile, and backend systems, and who's comfortable using AI tools to accelerate test design and execution. This is a hands-on, self-driven role — you'll be expected to set direction on testing strategy, not just execute against a plan handed to you.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, write, and maintain functional and non-functional test cases, leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, test-case generation LLMs, AI-assisted test authoring platforms) to speed up coverage and reduce manual effort
- Own end-to-end QA for web frontend, mobile applications (iOS/Android), and backend/API services
- Plan and execute load and performance testing — define benchmarks, identify bottlenecks, and work with engineering to resolve them
- Apply strong fundamentals across the QA lifecycle: test planning, requirement analysis, defect lifecycle management, regression strategy, and release sign-off
- Drive test automation strategy and framework decisions where applicable (web, API, mobile, and performance test automation)
- Identify gaps in coverage proactively rather than waiting for direction; bring structure to ambiguous or evolving requirements
- Mentor junior QA engineers and review their test plans/cases for completeness and quality
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to embed quality earlier in the SDLC
- Report on quality metrics, risk areas, and testing status to stakeholders
Must-Have Skills
- 6–7+ years of hands-on QA experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior/lead capacity
- Strong experience testing web frontend, mobile apps, and backend/API services
- Practical experience with load/performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar)
- Working knowledge of using AI tools to generate/optimize functional and non-functional test cases
- Solid grasp of core QA/testing fundamentals — test design techniques, defect triage, test pyramids, risk-based testing
- Familiarity with cross-browser/cross-device testing and responsive UI validation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive testing strategy without heavy hand-holding
Good to Have
- Experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, etc.)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into them
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) for test environment setup
- ISTQB or equivalent certification
