Job Description
Kanadevia Inova have a new opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our Asset Management team based in the UK (Farnborough or London offices). In this role, you will provide critical front-end legal support to KVI’s waste management and green energy businesses worldwide, with a specialized focus on our Asset Management energy portfolio, international transactions, and dispute management.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset & Portfolio Support: Partner with regional leadership to identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks, with a dedicated focus on the Asset Management business unit.
- Transaction & Agreement Structuring: Structure, negotiate, and draft complex international and domestic agreements with clients, sponsors, financial institutions, and service providers.
- Corporate Governance & Compliance: Provide solution-oriented counsel on day-to-day legal matters, compliance, internal processes, company incorporations, and company secretarial filings.
- Dispute & Counsel Management: Assist with the engagement of external counsel and manage dispute resolution strategies across various global jurisdictions.
- Knowledge & Training Delivery: Deliver legal and contractual training for KVI personnel while developing and maintaining standardized contract templates and precedents.

Qualifications
- Legal Credentials: Qualified common law lawyer, preferably admitted in England and Wales, with strong academics.
- Professional Experience: 3+ years PQE (flexible guide) acquired at an international law firm or within the in-house legal department of an international project company.
- Transaction Expertise: Demonstrable experience in project finance, managing the legal aspects of M&A transactions, public/private tenders, and construction claims (energy trading is a plus).
- Autonomy & Collaboration: Ability to work autonomously with a problem-solving, creative attitude, backed by the support of an experienced legal team.
- Languages & Travel: Exceptional communication skills in English (German and French proficiency is a plus) with the flexibility to travel on short notice.
