Are you ready to support one of the Department of War's (DoW) most critical high-performance computing environments?
Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Administrator to support our customer at Stennis Space Center, MS, home to one of the DoW's largest supercomputing centers. In this role, you'll be providing your Linux Systems Administration expertise to help ensure DoW scientists have reliable access to critical resources.
This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a mission-driven environment while leading a team of talented Linux professionals.
Work Location: Hybrid work schedule available. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Stennis Space Center, MS, and be available to work on-site 3 days/week.
Clearance: U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance is preferred, however an Interim Secret clearance is required prior to start.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide expert-level administration of RedHat Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Perform systems enhancement, configuration, maintenance, installation, and software upgrades.
Lead a team of high-performing Linux administrators, providing guidance, technical expertise, and project leadership.
Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, sharing lessons learned and best practices.
Maintain and manage the Enterprise Satellite server, ensuring it meets the organization's software deployment and updates needs.
Automate routine and complex tasks using Ansible, streamlining operations and improving efficiency.
Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels, adhering to established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
Identify and address performance issues and optimize the production environment for mission-critical systems.
Perform acceptance testing of modules, subsystems, and total systems.
Responsible for software installation, configuration, and ensuring adherence to configuration guidelines.
Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Maintain documentation and records to demonstrate adherence to regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start.
One of the following Linux certifications prior to start: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC-1
Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain Interim Secret eligibility prior to start (U.S. Citizenship required).
Extensive experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
Experience with Red Hat Satellite administration.
Hands-on experience developing automation using Ansible.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical teams, users, and others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) or large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience supporting Department of War (DoW) or other federal government customers.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies and enterprise storage solutions.
Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate system administration tasks.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
