About the Role
• Ensures IT service availability and minimises the AIA’s business impact of IT service outages through the effective management.
• Contributes to the improvement of user satisfaction with IT services by ensuring that the arrangements remain aligned with business needs and priorities and fit for purpose.
• Improves the overall technical performance as measured by the technology related KPIs and SLAs (utilisation, availability, response times etc.) year on year
Role & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Assist to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for AS/400 OS support, aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage a team to ensure high performance and operational efficiency.
AS/400 OS Management:
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of AS/400 operating system across the organization.
- Ensure stability, security, and performance of AS/400 servers and endpoints.
Incident & Problem Managements:
- Act as the 1st escalation point for complex AS/400 OS-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Lead on the root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
Patch & Update Management:
- Assis to develop and enforce patch management policies to ensure all AS/400 systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Coordinate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and apply necessary updates.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor the performance of AS/400 systems, analyze trends, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Prepare and present regular reports on AS/400 OS support operations, compliance, and risk management to senior leadership if required
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Work with vendors and internal stakeholder to evaluate, select, and implement AS/400 OS-related tools and technologies if any.
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers and ensure SLAs are met.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage related budget.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadline and organizational goals.
Minimum Job Requirement
- 7+ years of relevant experience, at least 3 years in managerial position with regional coverage.
- Hands on experience on position related technical components.
- An equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree holder of unviersity on Information Technology or related discipline
- Extensive knowledge IBM AS/400 (iSeries) operating systems including OS/AS400 and IBM i.
- Strong understanding of AS/400 architecture, CL programming, RPG, DB2, and system administration tools.
- Experience with modernization and integration of AS/400 systems with cloud or hybrid environment is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator – AS/400 or equivalent is highly desirable.
