Position Name: Senior Manager Planning
Location: Lahore
The Senior Manager Planning will be responsible for leading the planning and scheduling function for high-rise construction projects, including apartment buildings, hotels, and mixed-use developments. The role will oversee project planning, progress monitoring, schedule control, forecasting, and reporting while working closely with Project Management, Construction, Design, Procurement, Commercial, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall planning and scheduling activities across assigned projects, ensuring alignment with approved project objectives, timelines, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed master schedules, baseline programs, milestone plans, and execution strategies using Primavera P6.
- Monitor project performance against approved schedules, identify delays and critical areas, and ensure timely corrective and recovery actions.
- Lead and guide Planning Engineers and other planning resources, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery of planning outputs.
- Oversee weekly and monthly look-ahead plans and ensure project teams remain focused on upcoming milestones, critical activities, and key deliverables.
- Analyze delays, assess their impact on project completion dates, and develop recovery strategies in coordination with project leadership.
- Coordinate with Commercial, Procurement, Construction, and Finance teams to align project schedules with manpower, materials, equipment, budgets, and cash-flow requirements.
- Review and consolidate project progress reports, S-curves, schedule updates, forecasts, and other planning reports for senior management.
- Ensure project schedules and planning activities comply with contractual milestones, project specifications, approved programmes, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Construction, Design, Procurement, Commercial, Consultants, and Contractors to identify and resolve planning and execution constraints.
- Provide the Director PM with clear and timely updates on project performance, critical delays, risks, forecasts, and areas requiring management intervention.
- Identify gaps in planning and execution processes and implement practical improvements to strengthen schedule control and project delivery.
- Oversee planning activities through project completion, including testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
Qualification & Experience
- BSc/BE in Civil Engineering
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in construction planning, with significant experience in high-rise building projects.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6 and project scheduling.
- Proven experience in planning and monitoring large-scale residential, hotel, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project sequencing, delay analysis, resource planning, and schedule control.
- Experience in managing and mentoring planning teams.
- Exposure to project budgeting, cost-loaded schedules, and cash-flow planning will be preferred.
