About this role
Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Rolls-Royce SMR provides a British solution to a global energy challenge, leading the way in Small Modular Reactor technology and shaping the UK’s premier green export opportunity.
Our Mobilisation team plays an invaluable role preparing our strategic suppliers to support the successful delivery of our first-of-a-kind SMR and future global fleet. We work at the interface of Programme, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial and Engineering to ensure each major supplier is resourced, aligned and operationally ready to deliver safely, efficiently and predictably across the full lifecycle.
As we ramp up activities to prepare for our ground-breaking contract wins across Europe, we’re looking for a Senior Mobilisation Manager to lead the mobilisation of one or more of our strategic supply partners and shape supplier relationships, define and implement operating models, lead readiness planning through FOAK and into global scaling, and build our capability to ensure we work effectively with major delivery partners.
Reporting into the Head of Supplier Mobilisation, you’ll be instrumental in embedding a high performing, collaborative and continuously improving approach across the business.
What you'll be doing:
Build a lead the team across RRSMR - instilling a project-management mentality at all levels - to lead the mobilisation of the supplier delivery model
Develop and manage mobilisation project plans for the next 12–24 months, setting scope, milestones, objectives and forward pathways
Champion best practice methodologies, continuous improvement and innovation across mobilisation activity.
Ensure we are ready to work with suppliers — including budgets, resourcing, governance and cultural alignment - whilst shaping commercial considerations such as incentives, risk-share, gain/pain share and performance frameworks
Drive proactive engagement across programme, operations, commercial and supply chain teams to deliver integrated mobilisation outcomes, operational readiness and scalable delivery processes.
What you’ll bring (and your CV should show)
Experience leading large, complex projects or programmes within energy, infrastructure, engineering or similarly regulated industries
Capability in developing mobilisation, readiness or scaling plans across complex, multi-site organisations (if you got this on a global basis, then we really ought to talk)
Leadership experience in matrixed environments, with the ability to coach teams, set direction and foster inclusive, high performing cultures
Strong commercial acumen with experience influencing contracting strategy, negotiation and supplier performance frameworks.
We always appreciate context in applications- so please do try and add some dimensions to your CV such as turnover of business, or value of projects, team & customer size, that sort of thing.
