Overview
 

Deutsche Bank’s Global Network Services function delivers secure, resilient, and scalable network services across the Bank’s global technology estate. The Senior Network Engineer – Network Security & Wireless Network will be responsible to develop, shape, and deliver new network security solutions that strengthen the Bank’s cyber resilience and support secure technology transformation. Additionally, as a second focus area, the role requires strong collaboration with Network Core Engineering to deliver new wireless network solutions that improve end-user experience for Deutsche Bank Employees and clients, and support Deutsche Bank’s security standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and delivery of network security solutions, including Zero Trust, network segmentation, access control, firewall governance, secure connectivity, and cyber resilience capabilities

  • Develop and enhance enterprise wireless network solutions, leveraging cloud-managed technologies, emerging vendors, industry best practices, and internal security standards

  • Own end-to-end solution delivery from concept and business case development through design, implementation, operational transition, and value realization.

  • Partner closely with Network Engineering and key stakeholders to align solution design, technical requirements, operational readiness, and change governance objectives

  • Translate complex technical requirements into executable roadmaps, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes while providing implementation and governance oversight

  • Identify and remediate network security weaknesses by assessing control gaps, vulnerabilities, architectural risks, and operational issues, driving corrective actions through to closure

How You’ll Lead

  • Act as a senior interface with Network Engineering, CSO, Technology Risk, GTI, operations, architecture, vendors, and global business stakeholders on solution delivery, technical dependencies, implementation progress, and operational readiness

  • Prepare high-quality reporting and presentations for senior management and committees

Skills You’ll Need

  • Strong technical understanding of network security technologies and architectures, including Cisco, Check Point, Fortinet, F5, firewalls, proxies, routing, segmentation, NAC, secure remote access, cloud connectivity, hybrid network controls, and enterprise security tooling

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax - Wi-Fi 6/6E), Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Meraki), Access Point (AP) deployment best practices, RF planning, site survey methodologies, and wireless security protocols (WPA2/3 Enterprise)

  • Deep knowledge of network solution delivery, including design principles, control integration, operational resilience, technology risk management, and weakness remediation

  • Familiarity with regulatory drivers for technology security (ECB, EBA, SOX, GLBA, Dodd-Frank, DORA, etc.). Proven ability to manage technical delivery of complex network security solutions while identifying security weaknesses, assessing risk, defining remediation priorities, and driving closure with engineering and operations teams

  • Experience in a TISO, technical information security, security architecture, cyber risk, or comparable security advisory role would be beneficial, particularly where it involved solution design, security challenge, and remediation governance

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary, NC office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $185,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
