Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.
As a Senior Product Manager for Tempus ECG-AI, you'll own the product roadmap for our ECG-AI offering—from algorithm scoping and development through commercial deployment into clinical workflows. You'll join a team with deep, proven experience bringing SaMD products to market, and you'll play a key role in shaping how AI-powered cardiac diagnostics are delivered at the point of care.
What You'll Do:
Develop and manage the product roadmap for the ECG-AI offering, ensuring alignment with Tempus' strategic goals across both the Technology and Science organizations.
Own the core ECG-AI device roadmap through the full SaMD lifecycle—including algorithm prioritization, scoping, development, clinical validation, design controls, risk management, regulatory clearance, clinical implementation, and post-market surveillance.
Drive the development of software that enables integration of the ECG-AI devices into clinical workflows, ensuring the approach to deployment of SaMDs leads to high impact, clinical outcomes for the patients at our partner health systems
Work closely with engineering, data science, clinical, and regulatory/quality teams to drive the planning, design, development, validation, and user experience of ECG-AI solutions.
Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop project plans, set ambitious targets during quarterly planning, and take full accountability for achieving those results.
Oversee product releases to ensure the device and its integration are stable in production, scale reliably, and include ongoing monitoring of deployed machine learning model performance.
Distill, refine, and document technical and clinical requirements across teams, leveraging modern AI-assisted workflows to maximize precision and speed.
Lead operational change management for production changes, manage related workflow impacts, and triage product support requests.
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in product management, including hands-on experience developing and launching a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) product — through design controls, verification & validation, and regulatory clearance (e.g., FDA 510(k), De Novo, or equivalent). This experience is required.
Outstanding cross-functional leadership skills, with proven experience managing complex projects through influence — particularly across engineering and data science/ML teams.
A proven track record of translating scientific or clinical research into design and product decisions.
Demonstrated ability to manage several programs at once and work proactively to align multi-disciplinary stakeholders (engineering, science, regulatory, clinical).
Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical and regulatory concepts in simple terms.
