We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to drive the design and delivery of enterprise-scale cloud and data solutions. In this role, you will serve as a technical authority bridging strategy and execution, translating complex business requirements into robust, scalable architectures. You will play a critical role in shaping our data platform strategy, leading technical engagements with stakeholders, and mentoring engineering teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design and deliver end-to-end solution architectures leveraging Databricks, Azure, and AWS cloud platforms.
Lead technical discovery sessions with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, cloud-native architectural designs.
Define and enforce best practices for Databricks implementations, including data engineering, data science, and analytics workloads.
Architect and implement security frameworks within Databricks environments, including data access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Deep understanding of Azure networking topologies, virtual networks, and hybrid connectivity solutions to support enterprise workloads.
Develop and maintain data models to support analytical and operational use cases, ensuring data quality and governance standards are met.
Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and product teams to deliver integrated data solutions aligned with business objectives.
Evaluate and recommend emerging cloud technologies, tools, and architectural patterns to continuously improve the platform.
Produce technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and runbooks.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, conducting architecture and code reviews.
Partner with DevOps and security teams to embed infrastructure as code, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and security controls into solution delivery.
Support internal engagements as a technical subject matter expert.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in data architecture, cloud engineering, or a related technical discipline, with at least three (3) years in a senior or lead architect capacity. Demonstrated experience delivering data platform solutions in enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow, and Databricks SQL.
Proven experience architecting solutions on Azure or AWS, including compute, storage, networking, and managed data services.
Deep understanding of Azure networking concepts, including VNets, Network Security Groups, and Azure Private Link.
Demonstrated experience implementing Databricks security, including role-based access control, network isolation, secrets management, and audit logging.
Proficiency in data modeling techniques for both relational and dimensional models, as well as experience with data mesh or data lakehouse architectures.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis and validate solution outcomes.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data and cloud solutions.
Relevant certifications such as Databricks Certified Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Proven ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with a bias for action and a track record of delivering results.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have hands-on proficiency with Databricks, Azure or AWS cloud platforms, and data modeling tools.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and collaboration tools, including Teams, Jira, and Confluence, are required.
Familiarity with SQL, Python, and notebook-based development environments is expected.
Work Environment
Standard indoor working environment.
