Hexcel is currently seeking a Shift Engineer for our Duxford, UK location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Support maintenance activities across the site to improve plant performance and reliability.
- Carry out fault finding, repairs and implement root cause corrective actions.
- Develop, execute and maintain planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Support projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance safety and production efficiency.
- Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and restore production.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and drive-related issues.
- Liaise with suppliers, OEMs and contractors to support equipment improvements and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide daily reports to management and stakeholders.
- Train production personnel in basic maintenance activities and machine set-up procedures.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) or equivalent.
- BS7671 18th Edition qualification.
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering Maintenance.
- Completed recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Minimum five years' experience as an electrically biased maintenance engineer within a manufacturing or process environment.
- Knowledge and experience of PLCs and variable speed drives (desirable).
- ATEX, DSEAR and COMPEX training or awareness (desirable).
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations; IOSH qualification desirable.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, organisational and time management skills, with a self-motivated and proactive approach.
