Our Client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Shift Engineer – Production to oversee and ensure smooth, efficient operations during allocated shifts. The role entails production planning, preventive maintenance (PM) coordination, documentation, workforce supervision, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day production activities during the assigned shift. Ensure production targets (quantity & quality) are achieved. Allocate manpower effectively and monitor performance. Monitor machine performance and take corrective actions for breakdowns. Execute daily and weekly production schedules. Coordinate with planning and stores for material availability. Optimize machine utilization and reduce downtime. Support the maintenance team in scheduling and executing preventive maintenance. Conduct routine checks on machines and report abnormalities. Ensure compliance with equipment maintenance records. Maintain shift logbooks, production reports, and downtime records. Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other regulatory standards. Monitor rejection levels, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions. Supervise operators, technicians, and contract workers. Provide on-the-job training to operators for safety, quality, and productivity. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and discipline. Enforce safety standards and PPE usage. Report and resolve any unsafe practices or near misses. Ensure compliance with EHS norms and company policies. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering (or equivalent). 2–5 years of experience in production or manufacturing industry (FMCG, Automotive, Engineering, or Process industry preferred). Knowledge of production planning and control. Hands-on experience with machines, tools, and equipment. Knowledge of safety standards and preventive maintenance systems. MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). ERP / SAP or any Production Planning software. Data analysis, reporting, and documentation using spreadsheets & dashboards. Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability. Strong documentation & reporting abilities. Rotational shift duties (day/night). Factory/plant environment. Requires interaction with production, maintenance, QC, and stores teams.
