About this role
Basic Function Supervise the company's paper production operations to meet budgeted targets for volume, quality, and cost. Coordinates production of paper. Duties & Responsibilities • Reviews production log in order to allocate tasks and provide work direction to subordinate shift members to ensure agreed production line targets are met • Participates as a member of the team in the operation for a complete production line in an allocated plant area to ensure continuous and efficient operations and the meeting of line production targets • Monitors system performance and manipulates calibrations and settings to ensure optimization of line stages, efficient throughput, and minimal waste • Troubleshoots the more non-routine defects detected during the process through recalibration of settings in order to keep production down time to a minimum; escalates the more serious malfunctions to Maintenance and Quality Control • Undertakes minor maintenance activities in order to optimize operating efficiency and prolong asset life and value • Prepares for scheduled shutdown and supervises his team and the planning during unscheduled shutdown on cooperation with his superiors • Acts as a point of technical reference for subordinate shift members to assist in higher level troubleshooting and pass on expertise as part of on-the-job training • Interfaces with Maintenance, Stores, Quality, and other production units for materials supply and coordination of activities • Leads shift hand-over/take-over meetings to provide/receive real-time information on operating conditions and potential problems • Logs operating parameters to ensure operations are within normal limits and that all irregularities are reported to immediate supervisor for advice and/or solution • To full fill all Jumbo Roles that produced in his shift on ERP - Production Module • Ensures availability of raw materials against the production plan in order that shortages do not interrupt production • Ensures that the workplace is kept in a clean state and that all work is carried out in full compliance with approved occupational, health and safety procedures • Ensures shift team members are well presented, taking pride in the company uniform and observing personal hygiene standards and behaviours that enhance the company image Requirements Min. Education & Skills Required • Preferably Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience in the paper industry • Good knowledge of English (Basic Level) is required • First level supervisory potential • Strong knowledge and understanding of equipment and process in own area
