Job Overview:
Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a Site Quality Manager – PV & BESS to support site-specific quality assurance and operational excellence initiatives across our utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
This role is responsible for leading on-site quality control efforts, monitoring project performance, ensuring compliance with established quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to support successful project delivery across both PV and BESS scopes.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on utility-scale experience across both PV solar and BESS projects, strong quality leadership capabilities, and experience applying process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively lead quality initiatives across integrated renewable energy projects and work collaboratively with construction, engineering, commissioning, and project leadership teams.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Project Site Quality Analysis
Manage the analysis of operational and quality processes across utility-scale PV and BESS project sites, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
Collaborate with on-site teams to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance resource utilization.
Oversee the implementation of process improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and support successful project delivery.
Apply knowledge of both PV and BESS construction environments when evaluating site-specific quality risks, processes, and improvement opportunities.
Performance Measurement and Reporting
Monitor project-specific key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance tracking mechanisms.
Analyze project performance metrics and quality data to identify trends, risks, and areas requiring improvement.
Ensure regular reporting is provided to project stakeholders, including insights and recommendations for improving operational efficiency and quality.
Maintain visibility into quality performance across both PV and BESS scopes of work.
Continuous Improvement Facilitation
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives at project sites using Lean Six Sigma methodologies or similar frameworks.
Encourage project teams to actively identify improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.
Oversee workshops, training sessions, and collaborative problem-solving activities to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Partner with site leadership to implement lessons learned and quality improvements across PV and BESS construction activities.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Ensure adherence to applicable project quality standards, specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the implementation and execution of quality control processes across PV and BESS scopes.
Conduct and oversee quality audits and inspections as required.
Support corrective and preventive actions and drive quality improvements to enhance project deliverables.
Identify quality risks and work with project teams to resolve deficiencies and prevent recurrence.
Project-Specific Training and Development
Identify training needs for on-site teams and provide training on Primoris quality programs, processes, and expectations.
Conduct training for project teams focused on improving quality, consistency, and overall project execution.
Facilitate on-the-job learning that promotes skill development, knowledge sharing, and implementation of best practices.
Support the development of teams capable of maintaining quality expectations across both PV and BESS scopes.
Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with project stakeholders to manage change initiatives and support smooth transitions during process improvements.
Communicate changes effectively, address concerns, and facilitate buy-in from on-site teams.
Engage with project leadership, construction, engineering, commissioning, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Promote alignment between PV and BESS quality expectations on integrated renewable energy projects.
Supervision of Site Quality Technicians
Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to Site Quality Technicians.
Assign responsibilities and monitor progress and performance.
Ensure required audits, inspections, documentation, and quality activities are completed accurately and timely.
Support the development of technicians working across both PV and BESS scopes.
Reinforce quality expectations and provide coaching to improve project site operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required hands-on experience supporting utility-scale PV solar projects.
Required hands-on experience supporting utility-scale BESS projects.
Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, quality control, process improvement, construction quality, or project management roles within the renewable energy industry.
Strong understanding of quality practices and processes applicable to both PV and BESS construction environments.
Ability to evaluate quality requirements and risks across integrated PV and BESS project scopes.
Knowledge of process optimization methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex operational scenarios and identify improvement opportunities.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across construction, engineering, commissioning, project management, and field teams.
Change management experience with the ability to influence, coach, and motivate teams in a project environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues in a dynamic construction environment.
Familiarity with quality management systems, audits, inspections, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
Proficiency with productivity tools and data analysis software.
Ability to work effectively in a field-based environment and adapt to changing project requirements.

Physical Requirements:
Must comply with client safety requirements, including requirements related to facial hair, clothing, footwear, and personal protective equipment.
Must pass a physical examination if required.
Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., using assistance for heavier loads when appropriate.
Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces, including dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, and gravel.
Must be able to wear a respirator and other required PPE.
Work Location:
Industrial and utility-scale renewable energy construction sites and/or fabrication shops.
Work may include PV solar, BESS, or integrated PV and BESS project environments.
