Role Overview
The role will support and, over time, lead key aspects of the firm’s investment activities, with a primary focus on acquisition due diligence, transaction execution, and analytical support. This role is highly analytical, execution-oriented, and requires close coordination with internal leadership and external counterparties. The position offers meaningful responsibility, direct exposure to senior decision-makers, and a clear path to increased ownership of transactions and investment outcomes.
What You Will Do
  1. Acquisition Due Diligence
    1. Contribute to, and eventually lead, the full due diligence process for prospective property acquisitions.
    2. Coordinate third-party consultants, review findings, and assess risks.
    3. Understanding of real estate finance and how debt availability affects the acquisition
    4. Review and refine investment models, including underwriting assumptions, and sensitivity analyses.
    5. Audit lease files, rent rolls, operating statements, and other seller-provided documentation to validate underwriting assumptions.
    6. Market research on target acquisitions and the broader investment environment
    7. Assist in the preparation of internal investment memoranda and materials for investment committee presentations.
  2. Transaction Execution
    1. Contribute to, and eventually lead, the execution of acquisition, disposition, and refinancing transactions from contract through closing.
    2. Manage and coordinate all transaction participants, including legal counsel, lenders, mortgage brokers, title and escrow, consultants, equity partners, and buyers/sellers.
    3. Track and adhere to critical dates, deliverables, and conditions to closing; proactively identify and resolve execution risks.
    4. Review and assist in negotiating key transaction documents, including purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, and closing statements.
    5. Support, or oversee/lead, the closing processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with approved investment terms.
  3. Asset & Portfolio Management
    1. Portfolio cash flow modeling and projections
    2. Performance to model assessments, and presentation
  4. Ad Hoc and Strategic Analysis
    1. Perform ad hoc financial and analytical work to support investor presentations, capital raising efforts, and strategic initiatives.
    2. Support evaluation of new investment strategies, markets, or structures as directed by senior leadership.
  5. Portfolio Support
    1. Support refinancings, capital events, and major asset-level decisions with analytical and execution support.
    2. Help maintain internal models, data sets, and underwriting templates to ensure consistency and accuracy across investments.
  6. Process Improvement & Firm Support
    1. Design new, and improve existing, tools and analyses (primarily in Excel) that support the company’s goals.
    2. Help develop and refine internal processes, underwriting standards, and transaction workflows.
    3. Maintain organized diligence files, transaction records, and analytical work.
    4. Support other firm initiatives as needed in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

What We Are Looking For
  1. At least 5 years in Real Estate Private Equity underwriting.
  2. Experience working on live deals and deal required timelines/deadlines
  3. Deep understanding of the multifamily investment market, valuation principles, real estate finance, market norms, and investment modeling.
  4. Excel expert.
    1. Proficient at excel financial modeling, including the ability to audit and augment existing company models.
  5. Excellent communicator capable of professionally interacting with company executives and third parties
  6. Ability to prioritize competing tasks and clearly communicate with stakeholders
  7. Experience with AI LLMs, specifically Claude, is a plus.
  8. Experience with market data platforms (RealPage, Costar, Yardi Matrix, Green Street), and their methodologies is a plus.
