Meet the Team

Splunk, a Cisco company, is building a safer, more resilient digital world with an end-to-end, full-stack platform designed for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The Splunk Enterprise Security team develops industry-leading security analytics and operations capabilities that help organizations detect, investigate, and respond to advanced threats at scale.

Our work spans security information and event management (SIEM), threat detection, risk-based alerting, security investigations, threat intelligence, behavioral analytics, and automated response. We transform large volumes of security data into actionable insights, enabling security teams to prioritize risk, accelerate investigations, and protect their organizations across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

We are advancing automation-first and agentic development practices to make security operations faster, more effective, and easier to manage. Our engineers build scalable, reliable, and intuitive capabilities for detection engineering, analyst workflows, investigation, and response while addressing evolving threats, regulatory requirements, and the needs of modern security operations centers.

At Splunk, we are driven by a bold vision to make machine data accessible, usable, and valuable to everyone. We are a team of passionate builders who value technical excellence, customer impact, collaboration, trust, and curiosity. Our work directly influences analyst productivity, threat detection effectiveness, operational resilience, and customer trust across some of the world’s most complex digital environments.

Your Impact

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, Security, Release Management, and Infrastructure leaders to identify delivery constraints and translate them into durable platform capabilities. Your work will establish common engineering practices, reduce operational friction, and enable teams to deliver software faster and more safely while maintaining appropriate security, compliance, and reliability controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and reusable infrastructure modules.

  • Develop standardized deployment workflows supporting build, test, security scanning, artifact management, promotion, and rollback.

  • Build and maintain Kubernetes deployment platforms, including workload configuration, resource management, autoscaling, and cluster operations.

  • Implement GitOps-based deployment and configuration-management workflows using Argo CD.

  • Create reusable pipeline templates, Terraform modules, and platform services that enable development teams to deliver software independently.

  • Integrate automated unit, integration, regression, and infrastructure tests into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Implement security controls across the software supply chain, including secrets management, dependency scanning, container scanning, policy enforcement, and image hardening.

  • Develop automation and internal developer tools using Go, Python, and shell scripting.

  • Improve pipeline reliability, execution time, deployment frequency, change-failure rate, and mean time to recovery.

  • Establish observability for pipelines, deployments, Kubernetes workloads, and cloud infrastructure using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts.

  • Diagnose and resolve failures across CI/CD systems, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and application deployments.

  • Optimize cloud resource utilization and infrastructure costs through capacity analysis, Kubernetes rightsizing, and automated governance.

  • Partner with application, security, QA, and platform engineering teams to improve developer experience and operational readiness.

  • Participate in production support and on-call activities, including incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking.

  • Create technical documentation, architectural standards, operational runbooks, and platform onboarding guides.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's + 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD + 0 years of relevant experience. Degree should be in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.

  • Experience using SQL

  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.

  • Proficiency with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, provider management, and environment promotion strategies.

  • Experience operating Kubernetes-based applications in production.

  • Knowledge of Docker, container registries, image lifecycle management, and container security.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, distributed systems, SaaS products, or cloud-native architectures.

  • Experience in cybersecurity, security analytics, or enterprise security products.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, data analysis, automation, testing, or documentation workflows.

  • Familiarity with applying machine learning, generative AI, or large language models to analyze data, identify patterns, summarize findings, or generate actionable insights.

  • Experience evaluating AI-generated results for accuracy, reliability, security, and responsible uses.

  • Experience in Go or Python

  • Understanding branching strategies, release management, semantic versioning, artifact promotion, and automated rollback.
