Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
  • Build user interfaces leveraging various visualization technologies.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing software.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming sessions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, QA, and other engineers.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and user guides.
  • Learn and implement software engineering best practices and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Basic qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and data structures.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with at least one visualization framework (React.js, Angular.js, Node.js, et).
  • Ability to manipulate and extract data with SQL/NOSQL queries.
  • Experience with Databricks platform.
  • Exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts.
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure).

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent experience.

Experience: 

  • Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Desired Certifications:

The candidate may possess one or more of the following certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
  • Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE Programmer
  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+)
  • Software development methodology certification (e.g. SCRUM Master) highly desired.
  • GitHub or GitLab Certifications

Additional Information:

  • This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to periodically work at our Nightwing Location (Sterling, VA).

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($55,000-$106,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
