This is your opportunity to join the Receiver/ Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department as a Software Engineer II. The department’s primary goal is to design, develop, and support land and sea-based radar systems. We are looking for a unique engineer to enhance the sustainability of our current radar products. The ideal candidate will have experience in legacy radar hardware and software technologies, with an interest and ability to transition these products to current technologies while maintaining and troubleshooting and patching our deployed systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide expertise in modern C++ development and hands‑on experience across Linux, MATLAB, DevOps tooling, and Python.

  • Work within Linux to develop C/C++ and MatLab tools to build and test the DREXs going into the next generation of Radars.

  • Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers to work out technical challenges and deliver advanced capabilities.

  • This 1st shift role will be 100% onsite and based in Marlborough, MA.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience in C++ (C++14/17/20), including object-oriented design and performance optimization.

  • Experience developing in Linux environments (e.g., command-line workflows, build systems, debugging tools).

  • Experience with DevOps concepts and tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, automated build/test pipelines).

  • Experience with MATLAB (e.g., algorithm development, modeling, numerical analysis).

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Python (e.g., scripting, test automation, data analysis).

  • Experience with radar signal processing, RF systems, or software-defined radio (SDR).

  • Experience with tools like GNU Radio, USRP platforms, or similar SDR frameworks.

  • Experience in digital signal processing, real-time systems, or embedded development.

  • Experience in high-throughput, low-latency system design.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, technical engineering environment.

  • Active / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
