We are currently seeking a Software Engineer, User Experience to join our dynamic team in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy!

Vertiv’s Experience Design Group oversees the critically important set of capabilities that allows our customers to command and control our devices as well as help them interpret the data that these devices generate. Your unique perspective and expertise are needed to build a comprehensive and user-friendly set of applications in support of our business goals. You will raise the bar of the design craft-visual execution, engaging interactions, usability and overall user experience of the product. 

 

What kind of work will you be doing?

• Collaborate with talented and passionate global cross-functional teams, dedicated to making products that matter, together.
• Create responsive & advanced UI components such as visual Layout/Page Editor in HTML5, CSS/CSS3, Angular and jQuery.
• Develop original ideas which push the boundaries for our products.
• Use SASS to create very maintainable CSS style sheets with best practices such as BEM
• Co-define and lead initiatives and programs where your expertise and experience are needed to define and guide the work.
• Join and/or lead design critiques and product discussions to inform or make decisions, embrace pair-designing for ideation and collaboration with others.
• Enhance and develop innovative patterns and systems that can stand the pressure of enterprise customers, are durable, and set the new standard for the product.
• Drive product-led growth by creating designs that encourage user engagement, satisfaction, and adoption.
• Raise the bar of design craft – visual execution, engaging interactions, usability, and overall user experience of the product.
• Pair with UX designers to build out design concepts and interactive technological prototypes.
• Conduct technical design reviews of UI and ensure reliability and performance.

Required Skills & Abilities

• 3+ years of experience.
• An outstanding portfolio of previous work.
• Knowledge of web technologies, techniques & standards with good sense of design, usability & overall user experience and willing to learn new programs as they evolve.
• Possess an in-depth understanding of graphic design, typography, color theory and composition.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, communicate progress and milestones.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• A comprehensive understanding of mobile first design and optimization for mobile experiences.
• Knowledge of Front-End development technologies such as JavaScript, JS Frameworks (AngularJS, JQuery, etc.), HTML5 concepts, CSS abstraction (Less, SASS etc.), and task runners (Grunt/Gulp etc.)
• Knowledge of professional best practices for Software Development Life Cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, testing and operations.
