Hiring Range

$96,400.00 - $132,550.00/Annual
Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

A staff Physical Therapist will follow appropriate practices, to perform evaluations, timely re-evaluations and OASIS assessments, determine PT diagnoses, develop a plan of care, and perform physical therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, improving health, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disability. A staff Physical Therapist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care. This position must also be able to follow and adhere to the practices described in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. The Therapist is required to be flexible with daily scheduling.

What you will do

  • Performs evaluations, determines PT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs physical therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, improving health, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disability. Evaluates and assesses the patient timely, based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence based guidelines and regulatory standards (state & organizational policies, requirements of accrediting bodies, etc.
     
  • Provides reassessments including OASIS assessments at appropriate time points to determine the level of functioning. Updates and revises the plan of care in consultation with the physician and interdisciplinary team members.
     
  • Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, as assigned.
  • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides in providing services including completion of required supervisory visit documentation. Participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students.
     
  • Provides therapeutic treatments and evaluation of equipment needs as applicable. Prepares clinical and progress notes that support skilled intervention and assesses outcomes of care. Plans for discharge of patient.
     
  • Carries out treatment plan effectively and modifies to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria and return to optimal level of care. Utilizes testing results and develops updated plan of care based on principles outlined in appropriate evidence based guidelines.
     


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree, Physical Therapy (Required) or
  • Masters Degree, Physical Therapy (Required) or
  • Doctoral Degree, Physical Therapy (Required)


Experience

  • 1 year Physical Therapy experience (Preferred)


Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess patients' needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting.


Licenses and Certifications

  • License Physical Therapy (PT) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required) and
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
  • Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
  • Valid Drivers License Required
