Job Description
Step into a high-impact commercial lead role driving Nine’s premier sports portfolio across the Melbourne market!
Reporting to the National Commercial Director, you will spearhead multi-platform strategy and monetisation across linear TV, streaming, publishing, and digital out-of-home. You will collaborate with national sales leadership and key sporting bodies to transform iconic sports rights into major revenue growth.
Day to day you will:
Develop and execute the comprehensive commercial strategy and revenue targets for the Melbourne market across all Nine sports platforms.
Lead and support the local Melbourne sales team to drive pipeline execution and exceed revenue targets.
Build and manage high-impact relationships with internal stakeholders, agencies, clients, and sporting bodies.
Partner with Sport Sales Operations and Strategy teams to ensure seamless delivery from initial pitch to final booking.
Collaborate with Sport Content Partnerships to deliver innovative, high-impact commercial solutions for clients.
Monitor real-time revenue performance during sales cycles and live events to enable fast, strategic decision-making.
Maintain transparent performance tracking and set clear expectations to keep the team aligned with shared growth goals.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
At least 10 years of senior commercial and sales leadership experience within media, sports rights, or entertainment.
Deep-seated senior relationships across agencies, clients, and sporting bodies in the Melbourne market.
Thorough understanding of content monetisation across Linear TV, Digital/Streaming, Publishing, and Out-of-Home platforms.
Proven track record of designing, budgeting, and executing complex multi-platform revenue strategies.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to guide internal approval and briefing processes.
Strong financial and analytical acumen focused on revenue tracking, pipeline management, and forecasting.
Strong leadership capability to mentor sales teams and oversee key account strategies effectively.
