The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations: Monterrey, Kladno and Singapore. The purpose of the BSO is to create an effective and efficient platform for growth to support our strategy and reach twice as many kids over the next 5-7 years.
The General Ledger (GL) department interacts with great parts of the LEGO organisation and therefore holds an important role within the Business Service Operations (BSO), supporting the EMEA region. The team is responsible for compliant handling of the general ledger and all engagements related hereto, which involves natural interaction with a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders.
The departmental focus is to:
Make sure we live our partner promise by ensuring high quality, stewardship and full compliance with the LEGO Group's current Accounting Policy and global processes.
Ensure timely, accurate and reliable transactional data is recorded in the general ledger and timely reconciliation of all accounts.
Support internal and external stakeholders with insightful and value-adding financial analyses, recurring statements and reporting, bringing value to the overall business.
This role will play a key role in supporting the successful integration of Local Delivery Centers (LDCs) acquired through acquisitions. During the initial phase, the position will lead and coordinate finance-related integration activities, including process alignment, reporting standardization, systems transition, financial controls, and stakeholder management.
Following the integration phase, the role will become the primary owner of statistical reporting, financial statements preparation, surveys, management reporting, and financial consolidation activities for AME Region. The position will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial information while driving continuous improvements in reporting processes and governance.
Core Responsibilities:
Support the financial integration of acquired entities and LDCs into the company's operating model.
Coordinate integration activities across Finance, Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Operations, HR and IT teams.
Support data migration, chart of accounts alignment, reporting structures and systems harmonization.
Deliver a high-performance, customer- and service-oriented culture where the outside-in approach is the starting point for all processes.
Drive process standardization and best practice implementation across integrated entities.
Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (local GAAPs and IFRS).
Using Activity Based Working, actively take part in creating a culture that inspires collaboration, encourages knowledge sharing and incorporates exciting “New Ways of Working” in the everyday.
Build and strengthen basic stakeholder relations across areas and geographies, including collaboration and culture, to contribute to the One Global Team (incl. all CFO Organisation areas).
Understand stakeholders' needs.
Manage more advanced execution of GL processes in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, including:
Monthly and yearly closing – review distribution expenses, cost of goods sold and gross profit margins for reasonableness.
Performance of key controls, identification of control weaknesses and suggestions for improvements.
Reconciliations and translating business transactions into journal entries in accordance with IFRS to ensure all accounts are properly stated in legal books.
Prepare and coordinate statistical reports required by government agencies, industry organizations and management.
Lead annual, quarterly and ad hoc surveys and reporting requests.
Do you have what it takes?
Strong English communication skills (must).
Strong demonstrated working experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting or FP&A.
Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions or business integrations preferred.
Experience working in multinational and matrix organizations.
Experience with an enterprise-wide accounting software system, preferably SAP.
Microsoft Office at an experienced level.
Analytical, detail-oriented and focused on high quality.
