Sr. AI UX Designer, Amazon Fuse

Seattle, United States of AmericaOn-siteFull-timeSenior · 8+ yearsH1B likely

About this role

What if the next design you create could unlock Amazon for someone who's never experienced it before?

We've been thinking about this question a lot lately as we're hiring for our Amazon Fuse team. We're not just looking for another designer – we're looking for someone who gets excited about creating entirely new pathways into Amazon.

Picture this: A customer who's never shopped with us suddenly discovers Amazon through a service they already trust. Or imagine designing the very first onboarding experience for someone who doesn't even know where to start with Amazon's vast offerings. These aren't incremental improvements – these are the moments that change everything for both the customer and our company.

The designer joining our team won't be optimizing existing flows or A/B testing button colors (though that matters too). They'll be crafting experiences that have never existed before. Experiences that serve underserved communities. Experiences that help business relationships integrate with Amazon for the first time. Experiences that turn a single interaction into a lifelong relationship.

When you design something truly new, you're not just solving for your immediate users. You're creating ripples that touch every corner of Amazon. That onboarding flow you design might become the template for future customer acquisition. That accessibility solution might set new standards across all our products.

The most fulfilling work happens when you know your design could be someone's very first Amazon experience – and their gateway to everything we have to offer.

Key job responsibilities
- Own and drive the end-to-end UX design process—from discovery through implementation—for major features or product areas of Fuse.

- Create and validate design solutions through user research, journey mapping, task analysis, data analysis, and iterative usability testing.

- Develop personas, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, interaction models, and high-fidelity prototypes.

- Partner effectively with Product Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to define, validate, and deliver solutions.

- Ensure accessibility, usability, and consistency across all digital products.

- Integrate AI into every phase of the UX lifecycle to improve productivity and design quality, using AI platforms to generate design concepts and alternatives, produce user flows and wireframes, create interactive prototypes, generate UX documentation, summarize research findings, identify usability issues, produce interface copy and microcopy, and analyze user feedback.

- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for usability, accessibility, ethics, accuracy, and business alignment; continuously refine AI prompts and workflows to improve design outcomes.

- Influence product strategy through strong design rationale and customer advocacy.

- Define and document design patterns that can scale across multiple products.

- Balance customer needs with technical constraints while maintaining a high bar for quality.

- Present work to senior stakeholders and incorporate feedback effectively.

- Stay current on advancements in generative AI, large language models, design automation, and AI-assisted research.

A day in the life
Your day starts by reviewing overnight user feedback and research signals, using AI to surface themes worth exploring. You sketch flows for a new partner onboarding experience, then prompt generative tools to spin up wireframe alternatives you refine by hand. Midday, you partner with a PM and engineers to pressure-test a prototype against technical constraints, then run a quick usability session. In the afternoon, you synthesize findings, draft interface copy, and update your design patterns library. You close the day presenting a design rationale to senior stakeholders, championing the customer and shaping the strategic direction of a Fuse product area.

About the team
You'll join a dynamic UX team within Amazon Fuse that supports each other's development and is passionate about creating exceptional experiences for both 3P partners and customers. Fuse builds the products that connect partner ecosystems to Amazon—turning routine transactions into gateways for discovery and long-term engagement. We offer mentorship, autonomy, and opportunities to contribute to our collaborative culture while working on some of the most exciting challenges in partner distribution and AI-assisted design.
