Sr. Database Engineer

Design and architect database solutions across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server platforms. Install, configure, and deploy database environments for customer and internal projects. Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. Design and implement backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies. Manage database security, including access control, encryption, and compliance requirements. Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance and availability issues. Support database migration, consolidation, and upgrade projects across different platforms. Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and operational best practices. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams on database-related requirements and design decisions. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for managed services customers, including participation in on-call/escalation support as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Senior-level experience in database engineering and administration, with hands-on expertise across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server. Strong knowledge of database design, architecture, indexing, and performance tuning across relational and NoSQL platforms. Proven experience with backup/recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability/disaster recovery configurations. Familiarity with database security hardening and compliance best practices. Experience with database migration and cross-platform upgrade projects. Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator / SQL Server, MongoDB Certified DBA, or equivalent).
