About this role

  1. GST Return Filing & Compliance: Sr. Accounts Executive is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and filing of all statutory GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9 for all business entities. This involves extracting and validating data from accounting systems, ensuring correct tax categorization, and reconciling input and output GST. He must stay updated with any regulatory changes and ensure filings are done within deadlines to avoid penalties or interest. His proactive approach helps the organization maintain a clean compliance record and avoids scrutiny from tax authorities.
  2. Checking E-Invoice & IRN Generation: Sr. Accounts Executive oversees the generation of IRNs (Invoice Reference Numbers) for all B2B invoices, credit notes, and GST debit notes, ensuring they are submitted through the government-authorized portal in real time. He coordinates with internal teams to ensure that data fed into the system is accurate and formatted correctly for e-invoicing. In case of failures or rejections during IRN generation, he investigates and resolves the issues promptly to avoid delays in dispatch or non-compliance in documentation. His vigilance ensures seamless e-invoice implementation across entities. He is also responsible for uploading Invoice/CN/DN on clear tax portal.
  3. Reconciliation & Mismatch Reporting: Sr. Accounts Executive prepares detailed mismatch reports (GST2) comparing the company’s accounting books with the data reflected on the GST portal. He identifies invoices and credit notes that are either missing in the books or not accounted for on the portal and ensures corrective actions are taken in coordination with Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Purchase teams. This reconciliation process is vital to ensure that GST credits are not lost, and liability is correctly reported. He submits consolidated reports with remarks and resolutions to the GM – Finance & Accounts monthly.
  4. Audit & Compliance Support: Sr. Accounts Executive actively supports internal, statutory, and GST audits by providing timely and accurate data on returns, reconciliations, and ledger entries. He maintains a structured digital and physical filing system for all GST-related documentation, ensuring quick retrieval during audit checks. He also assists in preparing GST audit trails and responds to queries raised by auditors. His preparedness ensures that audits are completed smoothly and the company remains in full compliance with tax authorities.
  5. Coordination & Reporting: Sr. Accounts Executive works closely with cross-functional departments to ensure proper classification and posting of invoices with accurate tax codes, helping in smooth GST data flow and reconciliation. He also updates the GM – Finance & Accounts with regular dashboards on GST filings, IRN generation status, and mismatch resolution progress. His role as a central coordinator enhances the visibility of tax compliance and ensures early identification and resolution of issues that may impact regulatory compliance or business operations.
