About this role

About us:

Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations and more people. Dyson launched in the US in 2002, and since then operations have grown exponentially. Our US headquarters is based in Chicago's Fulton Market neighborhood. We also have employees working in field sales, our service centers, and in our growing number of Dyson Demo Stores across the country.

We're committed to our campus culture and want to have people collaborating, developing, and learning from each other. By having everyone on campus together, we have been able to nurture a fantastic social and dynamic environment.

About the role:

The Senior Ecommerce Manager will have to elaborate a roadmap for long term strategy for incremental traffic driven by Affiliates and Live Shopping. This roadmap will have to be applied to Americas, so including Mexico and Canada, not just the USA.

As shopping behavior remains digitally led, more social interactions are expected during research, buying and support journeys. We are embarking on new 1:1 and 1: many formats that are in various stages of development. This role will manage local implementation, optimization, and long-term enhancements as social, virtual and live demo specifically, evolve.

Drive our Ecommerce Dyson.com business strategy

  • Influence the Direct Regional and Global strategies and priorities, and translate them into concrete actions and projects within our Ecommerce platform.
  • Be the advocate for roadmap investments that improve consumer journeys and/or our team’s ability to continuously trade the site, and optimize those journeys with the goal of driving KPI optimizations
  • Orchestrate a cross-functional alignment on those priorities and what it will take to execute them
  • Own and obsess our Ecomm Equation forecast both from a long-range (annual, quarterly) and short-range (monthly, weekly) planning perspective.
  • Together with the Ecommerce LT, develop specific strategies to optimize each step in that Ecomm equation, such as traffic driving strategies, landing strategies, CVR funnel initiatives or tests, etc. Do so leveraging cross functional input, internal best practices (group, markets) and external benchmarks and sources of inspiration.

Oversee day to day ecommerce and site trading responsibilities.

  • Lead critical portions of our weekly trading cadence (WBR) drawing and sharing insights and actions with the support of the Web Performance Optimization team
  • Continuously shift the way we manage our Ecommerce platform and perform site merchandising optimizations towards balancing our creative and data driven approach. Partner with Web Optimization Performance Team to develop standardized dashboards that allow us to efficiently monitor page(s) performance, and take action
  • Be the center point for how our cross functional team creates consumer experiences in a consistent way. Do so through existing or new tools such as shared forums and chats, E2E consumer centric calendars.
  • Execute the weekly commercial calendar for Dyson.com across site pages, but also to ‘read and react’ business decisions and changes
  • In partnership with Sales Ops, co-create and drive a regular kick off meeting where upcoming plans are shared, alongside tests, commercial priorities, etc.
  • Create a routine, data driven approach to ecommerce and site merchandising optimizations across the site at least once weekly or daily during high trading weeks (e.g., funnel analysis, HP CTR analysis, landing optimizations for paid and organic traffic, PLP optimizations, general CTA placement and optimizations). Do so as the center point of cross functional efforts when needed (e.g., landing optimizations together with CRM/SEO/Media etc).
  • This leader will be key in shaping our test & learn culture: ideate, lead and/or enable local A/B testing of both components of journeys (e.g., assets, copy), and/or commercial strategies (e.g., GWP, sampling).
  • Catalogue maintenance across FG A/B-grade and S&A inclusive of pricing/promo, removal of EOL OOS
  • Bundles execution, GWP, sampling, support Live Shopping as needed
  • Own on-site search (and the relationship with Yext)
  • Coordinate deployment of CRM tacticas or capabilities with the CRM team
  • Create or curate campaign-specific landing pages.
  • Demand signaling and replenishment tactics: Notify Mes, delay ship.

Develop and execute testing roadmap

  • Together with Site Ops & Testing, build testing plan and enhancement business cases to remain relevant to changing expectations of consumers in the market
  • Responsible for building a culture of continuous learning through on-going testing, measurement and optimization on Affiliates and Live Shopping across Americas.
  • Make business case using influential skills and seniority to get resources from the UK to priority US and Americas needs.

Team management

  • Develop and grow the ecommerce and site merchandising teammates using past people management experience, coaching and leadership skills.
  • Regularly calibrate roles and responsibilities to balance business and team objectives with personal development ones.

Live the brand, foster a culture of team work and collaboration, and fulfill other duties as needed

  • Lead by example, with courage and optimism about the unlimited potential of our team and brand
  • Also lead by example towards a culture of extreme collaboration across functions and between markets and group teams, enabling dialogue to solve frictions and challenges (vs a transactional management via emails ‘throwing the problem over the fence’).
  • Be an active subject matter expert on all things ecommerce and site merchandising
  • Support and mentor team members across the Direct Organization and beyond
  • Lead or delegate and oversee digital project management if needed
  • Relish the opportunities to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
  • Be solutions-oriented: identify problems and present solutions

About you :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of online ecommerce experience
  • Ambitious, driven and open to learning what other functions do and how they impact our Ecommerce business; contagious energy and drive to constantly develop new, better ways of working
  • Proactive – always looking for ways to improve
  • Objective (data driven), enthusiastic, committed, flexible and creative
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
  • Personable, ability to work well with a variety of different personality types and skill sets
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic business landscape. Demonstrated ability to own and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships to collaborate with both local and Dyson HQ teams
  • Experience onboarding new technology and systems with IT partners
  • Proven success developing business cases that resulted in outcomes
  • An innovative thinker with Web Merchandising expertise, and a proven track record. Must have experience working with a transactional Website.
  • Ability to put the consumer at the center, and apply critical thinking to journey design choices, into and within the site
  • Experience managing P&L for an ecommerce site is a strong plus
  • Digital marketing and agency experience is a strong plus
  • Site merchandising specific experience is a plus
  • International experience a plus
  • Google and Adobe analytics experience preferred
  • Ability to understand the Dyson brand and uphold its integrity
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to create executive level slides by distilling clear insights and ‘so-what’ in a pinch.
  • Ability to drive projects from concept through implementation and to analyze post-campaign results. Project management skills to coordinate both internal, external resource and Dyson HQ team in a cross-functional organization
  • Advanced knowledge/ proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook required
