Job Description
Join Teledyne MEC and play a critical role in advancing next-generation vacuum electron devices used in demanding defense and aerospace applications. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design and development of complex thermomechanical solutions that enable higher power densities, improved reliability, and precision manufacturing. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you'll help transform innovative concepts into high-performance products that support critical missions worldwide.
What you'll do
- Lead the mechanical design and manufacturability of precision subassemblies for advanced electronic devices.
- Perform thermal and structural analyses to optimize performance, reliability, and packaging designs.
- Develop assembly methodologies, tooling, and processes that improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including engineering drawings, assembly procedures, and manufacturing travelers.
- Conduct failure investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions or design improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, production, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical input for proposals, specifications reviews, supplier evaluations, and nonconformance resolutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to leadership, customers, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and corporate processes.
- Support domestic and international project activities as needed.
What you need
- Mechanical design experience involving complex precision assemblies – required
- Knowledge of thermal management, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles – required
- Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation – required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills – required
- Precision alignment methods and assembly techniques – preferred
- Thermomechanical finite element analysis experience – preferred
- Experience with manufacturing technologies such as brazing, welding, diffusion bonding, additive manufacturing, or motion control systems – preferred
- Master's degree in Engineering or Physics with 2-5 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience – required
- Ability to travel approximately 10% domestically and internationally and support occasional evening or weekend work when necessary – required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance – required

Salary Range:
$113,600.00-$151,400.000
