Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Sr Manager EHS in New Brunswick, NJ, with consideration given at the discretion of the business to other J&J medtech site locations in North America.

Position Summary

Provides direct oversight of North American MedTech based distribution centers partnering with a diverse network of EHS professionals to drive site based EHS&S performance.  Continuously identify, assess and control risk while ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.

Coordinates the deployment of key EHS&S programs (e.g., Machine Safety, PIV Safety, Fire Safety, HOP) across the global J&J MedTech network of distribution centers while driving standardization and simplification.  Ensures that J&J EHS&S requirements are transferred and implemented into strategic Deliver network optimization projects.

Leads the deployment of the J&J MedTech EHS&S External Supply program. Drives supplier assessments to identify EHS operational risks and partners with Sourcing to drive corrective actions.

This role requires a broad and exhaustive understanding of EHS&S risk management aspects that could potentially impact the external supply and Deliver network.  

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

North America Deliver Operations:

  • Leads operational compliance through the execution of J&J EHS&S standards and industry standards applicable to warehousing operations (e.g., Warehouse Safety, Load Securing, Machine Safety, PIVs, Racking, Fall Protection, Fire & Life Safety) 
  • Drives prioritized strategic improvements in warehousing EHS&S
  • Provide EHS&S leadership, EHS&S SMEs, and Deliver partners with ongoing consultation pertaining to site based EHS&S performance

Global MT Deliver Program Deployment

  • Translate enterprise EHS&S and Deliver EHS&S strategies and tactics into regional and site-based deployment plans identifying resource, financial, and timing requirements.   
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Deliver and EHS&S business parters and SMEs.
  • Work with Enterprise, Sector and Franchise EH&S Leaders to secure global & regional resources to support the deployment of key programs.
  • Facilitate collaboration across MedTech distribution network and 3PL managed sites on EHS&S best practices, process improvement, execution, and flawless delivery.
  • Create value by driving efficiencies and risk-based standardization in the deployment of EH&S programs across Deliver sites.

External Supply

  • Work with Procurement leadership and supplier relationship managers to develop, align, and execute strategies and tactics to ensure flawless execution of the enterprise wide EHS&S, requirements for External Suppliers (e.g., contract sterilizers, external manufacturers).
  • Integrate EHS&S External Supply requirements into broader sourcing business process so that critical risks are identified and assessed proactively providing key business EHS&S insights.
  • Lead global supplier EH&S auditing with alignment from key stakeholders EHS&S and Procurement stakeholders.

The Sr. Manager EH&S External Supply & Deliver MedTech is a member of Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) organization which is part of the Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain.  Location preference for this position is in any MedTech office, manufacturing site, or Distribution Center (DC) within the North America region.

The Sr. Manager EH&S External Supply & Deliver MedTech will routinely interface with multiple internal business stakeholders (Regional Deliver leadership, Procurement leadership, GHS, Q&C, Facilities, Engineering, Risk Management etc.). The role will also interface with external stakeholders and suppliers.  and will also interact with internal business partners (E2E). 

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree - Safety, Engineering, Industrial Sciences, or related fields

Required Years of Related Experience:     10 years in EHS preferably as a site EHS lead in manufacturing and/or warehousing operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership, project management and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of EHS&S regulations and procedures

• Up to 20% of travel is required, including domestic and international.

Other:

This position is hybrid and preferably located in New Jersey (New Brunswick office) with consideration given to other J&J sites located inside or outside of the US. The position may require up to 20% domestic and international travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
