Sr. Product Manager, Platform

About this role

Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

As a Product Manager for Platform, you will own the foundation of Tenstorrent's developer experience: firmware, system software, packaging, and updates. Today, getting started with Tenstorrent hardware means navigating multiple repositories, docs pages, and shell scripts. Your job is to turn that into one product developers install once and trust forever. You’ll build in the open, partnering with our open source community to continually raise the bar on developer experience. You’ll own the unified Tenstorrent CLI: a single entry point to our entire software stack. One command, every device, every workflow, from bare-metal bring-up to production model serving.

This role is remote and based in North America, with hubs in Santa Clara, CA; Austin, TX; and Toronto, ON.

We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.

Who You Are

  • You're technical. You're comfortable diving into code and repos to understand how firmware, drivers, and runtimes actually work, and equally comfortable defining high-level objectives and direction for highly technical products.
  • You have a bias for action. When the path is ambiguous, you find creative solutions and ship, rather than waiting for perfect information.
  • You're developer-focused. You dogfood everything exactly as a customer would, and you judge your output by whether developers reach real work fast.
  • You care about the foundations. You live in the terminal and have strong opinions on installers, updates, versioning, error messages, because you know that's where developer trust is won or lost.

What We Need

  • Someone to wrangle firmware, system software, packaging, and updates into a coherent platform: one roadmap and a single product interface for customers instead of a conglomeration of independent parts.
  • Ownership of the unified Tenstorrent CLI from definition to launch: command surface, installation and packaging, versioning and deprecation policy, telemetry, and how it coexists with existing tools.
  • Crisp priorities and clear direction for highly technical engineering teams, with success metrics like developer NPS and CLI adoption defined up front and rapid, iterative shipping against them.
  • A partner for engineering, DevRel, and customer teams who treats a blocked developer as the highest priority and works in the open with our community.

What You Will Learn

  • The state-of-the-art of AI inside a growing, international community of open computing enthusiasts: you'll learn from the best and brightest
  • Practice first-principles problem solving on real hardware/software co-design challenges, from firmware and system software up to model serving
  • How an open, affordable, and modifiable approach to AI compute changes the landscape and what it takes to help developers own their silicon future.
