Sr Software Engineer - Java, Microservices & Cloud

Overview

• We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud-Native Application Development. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend services that power enterprise-grade applications.
• This role requires a strong engineering mindset, hands-on backend development experience, and the ability to build resilient, secure, and scalable solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software using modern development practices and cloud technologies.

What You'll Do

Backend Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build high-performance RESTful APIs and reusable backend services.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code following engineering best practices.
• Contribute to system design, technical architecture, and solution implementation discussions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development guidelines.

Microservices & Distributed Systems

• Design and implement Microservices-based architecture for scalable and resilient applications.
• Develop solutions leveraging event-driven architecture patterns and asynchronous processing models.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to evolve platform capabilities and engineering standards.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure.
• Work with cloud services and platform capabilities to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
• Support cloud migration, modernization, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
• Exposure to AWS or GCP environments is considered an advantage.

Data & Persistence

• Design and optimize solutions utilizing Relational Databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
• Develop efficient data models, queries, and persistence layers for enterprise applications.
• Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across distributed systems.

Engineering Excellence

• Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and quality engineering practices.
• Collaborate with QA, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality releases.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Support

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
• Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and technical discussions.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams across EMEA and US regions when required.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work with cross-functional stakeholders and support critical project deliverables across multiple time zones.

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8 years of experience in Software Engineering with strong backend development expertise.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
• Proven experience designing and developing Microservices-based applications.
• Experience building Event-Driven Architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform; exposure to AWS or GCP is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Relational Databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable, secure, and highly available backend systems.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
