Job Summary
Develops & implements robust methods and procedures for process control, improvements, testing, and inspection to ensure products meet design requirements and function as intended. Manages multiple testing build projects; planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Designs, installs, and validates advanced testing equipment, such as servo-hydraulic and data acquisition systems, ensures compliance with relevant standards like ASTM and ISO. Utilizes specialized test systems, including MTS and DEWESoft, while innovating new testing methods to continuously improve processes. Works closely with program representatives to resolve testing issues, drive effective corrective actions, and support supplier quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions
- Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
- Participates in final system integration and validation to identify functional problems.
- Defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
- Creates, documents, and analyzes the most complex test cases and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
- Ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards.
- Identifies chronic or systemic problems in testing and develops and implements improvements to process.
- May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.
Additional Responsibilities
Mentors technicians and Jr engineers in performing product testing, analyzing data, and troubleshooting issues, fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to align testing with program goals.
Required Qualifications
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
- Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree

Physical Requirements
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel likely.
