Staff AI/ML Robotics Engineer

Location: Limerick
Team: Edge AI Group, Analog Devices Inc. (ADI)

Analog Devices’ Edge AI team is on a mission to redefine how machines perceive and interact with the world. We’re building real-time, intelligent systems that combine world-class sensor technology with cutting-edge AI — at the Edge, where milliseconds matter.

We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Robotics Engineer with expertise in physics-informed machine learning (PIML) to develop and enhance sensor simulation frameworks for fixed-arm robots and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs

In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise to develop custom sensor simulation models for advanced AI applications. You will collaborate with a talented team of hardware, AI, and simulation engineers to drive the future of robotics simulation, with a focus on closing the simulation-to-reality gap to ensure that our simulations accurately reflect real-world performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement physics-informed machine learning models for sensor simulation, ensuring physical accuracy and realism.
  • Develop and optimize simulation workflows that combine physics-based modelling with data-driven approaches for sensors such as ToF, RGB-D, LiDAR, and IMUs.
  • Collaborate with hardware, AI, and simulation engineers to integrate simulation outputs into real-world systems.
  • Apply techniques such as noise modelling, domain randomization, and physics-based constraints to reduce the sim-to-real gap.
  • Stay current with advancements in PIML, sensor simulation, and robotics, and contribute to the adoption of innovative solutions within the team.
  • Utilize platforms such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, ROS/ROS2, and Universal Scene Description (USD) for simulation development.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in simulation, machine learning, or robotics, with hands-on experience in physics-based or physics-informed modelling.
  • Experience with advanced ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and scientific computing libraries.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and deploying PIML models for sensor simulation or related applications.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++, with experience integrating PIML models into simulation platforms and robotic systems.
  • Understanding of sensor physics, signal processing, and sim-to-real transfer challenges.
  • Experience with synthetic data generation and validation of simulation models against real-world data.

Bonus Experience

  • Contributions to open-source PIML or simulation projects.
  • Familiarity with sensor hardware design and calibration.
  • Publications or project experience in physics-informed machine learning or sensor simulation.
  • Experience with Nvidia Isaac Sim or other robotic simulation platforms
  • Proven track record of delivering simulation-driven workflows for AI model training, system validation, or perception testing.

Why Join Us?

Join ADI’s Edge AI team to help create truly intelligent edge systems — where sensing, learning, and acting happen in real time. You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, solving hard problems with people who care about impact, reliability, and real-world performance.
