JOB DESCRIPTION:
Main Responsibilities
- Demonstrates expert knowledge and proficiency of the complete software development process.
- Design/Implement software in current OOPs programming languages such as Java with expertise in object-oriented programming principles, data structures, state machines, synchronization and multi-thread concepts.
- Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices including AI-assisted testing, automated code generation, intelligent debugging, and software quality analysis.
- Oversee end-to-end implementation of all internal and external interfaces, implementation patterns and unit, integration and performance testing strategy for all features in one or more subsystems.
- Debugs, troubleshoots, and isolates software problems as well as provide strategic solutions, analysis, and contribute to process/design improvements.
- Independently manage the product development, issue tracking and design description process with input from others. Communicate with internal stakeholders on decisions that impact their team.
- Conduct design reviews, maintain/update design documents and address review feedback. Also contribute and support reviews held by peers on related projects and provide feedback.
- Assess areas impacted by new feature requests and determine approach to accommodate new capabilities.
- Contribute to project planning by providing effort estimates for implementing new features/ functionality. .
- Provides technical feasibility assessment on emerging user needs and product requirements, leads to proof-of-concepts and proposes optimal design solutions compatible with the software system architecture.
- Leads root cause investigations into high-complexity or high-severity issues.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in Computer Science or related field with 8-10 years of related experience, master’s degree with 7+ years of related experience.
- Ability to independently learn/explore existing system functionality.
- Strong hands-on programming/coding knowledge of Java or any Object-oriented programming.
- Progressively more responsible work experience in a range of software engineering disciplines using a variety of programming methods.
- Expertise with visual modeling, graphical user interfaces, multi-threading, formal software development methodologies, and source code management.
- Intermediate to moderate understanding of Linux Operating system.
- Strong knowledge with continuous integration & continuous development
- Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. Ability to debug and arrive at solutions.
- Experience with source control and bug tracking tools (Git, Jira)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools, generative AI technologies, and intelligent automation platforms to accelerate software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, security, compliance, and reliability.
Preferred
- Experience working with teams cohesively from multiple sites.
- Experience developing medical device software.
- Experience in embedded systems software development is a plus.
- Experience developing software applications for tablet platforms and touch-enabled devices, including responsive UI/UX design and cross-platform deployment.
The base pay for this position is
$114,000.00 – $228,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
