What you will do
We are looking for a Strategic Social Media Manager to set the strategic direction for all social media and performance marketing activity in our DACH market. In this 1 year assignment, you will drive measurable brand and business results across B2B and B2C, lead and develop our Social Media Coordinator, and onboard and steer external agencies. This role sits within the Marketing team, reports to the Brand Lead DACH, and is preferably based in our Hamburg office (32-40h/week). All wrapped up
Define and evolve the overarching social media strategy, grounded in data, platform developments, and brand ambition.
Own content analysis, KPI reporting, and monthly performance updates, translating insights into clear strategic pivots.
Drive the paid media strategy across B2B and B2C channels, from budget allocation and audience targeting to campaign optimisation and ROI reporting.
Build and scale a micro influencer strategy that activates authentic voices to tell our story, driving brand trust through earned conversations, UGC sourcing, creator partnerships, and fan activation.
Evaluate, onboard, and manage external agencies for performance marketing and social, setting clear KPIs and expectations from day one and ensuring delivery on brief, on budget, and at quality.
Lead, coach, and develop the Social Media Coordinator: set priorities, review output, provide regular feedback, and build their skills and confidence over time.
Ensure alignment between social output and broader brand and campaign strategy, acting as the key point of contact for the E-commerce team.
Continuously test, learn, and scale what works across platforms and audiences.
Our new flavor:
Previous experience in social media marketing, ideally in FMCG or a fast-paced brand environment.
Proven track record in paid media and performance marketing across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Google, with hands-on experience in campaign setup, targeting, bidding, and conversion tracking.
Experience in managing and steering external agencies, with the ability to set clear expectations, conduct performance reviews, and build productive partnerships.
First leadership experience: you know how to coach, delegate, and develop a junior team member while maintaining quality.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills: you translate data into action, spot trends and platform shifts early, and balance brand building with performance goals.
Sharp understanding of social-first content formats, brand tone of voice, and creative judgment.
Eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment where you independently drive initiatives, manage complex projects, and deliver impactful results.
Fluency in German (C1 + level ) is required for this role
We are all about being more in person than apart; in case you are based in Hamburg we would love to see each other at the office. Working remotely is also possible for this assignment as long as you are based in Germany.
