Job Summary:
Oversee and direct all field operations for bridge and structural construction projects in the Shreveport, LA area, ensuring safety, quality, and project schedule adherence.
Job Responsibilities**
* Lead and supervise a crew of skilled and unskilled workers, assigning tasks and providing clear instructions.
* Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure accurate project execution.
* Implement and enforce all company safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
* Monitor daily progress, track project costs, and manage material and equipment utilization.
* Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain project flow.
* Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards.
* Operate heavy equipment and machinery as needed, including cranes, excavators, and pile drivers.
* Maintain accurate daily reports, timecards, and other project documentation.
* Troubleshoot and resolve on-site problems efficiently and effectively.
* Train and mentor junior crew members.
Job Qualifications**
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role focused on bridge or structural projects.
* Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
* Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in operating various heavy equipment relevant to bridge construction.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment, often in varying weather conditions.
* OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
