Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with children is required. Candidate must maintain good attendance and work ethic. Must be able to exhibit good judgment and good decision-making skills. First aid and CPR certification preferred. Currently pursuing or holds an AA/BA is preferred, 12 ECE units a plus.

Ideal candidate will have a “we’re all in this together” attitude and will be committed to and support goals of campus and values of Fairmont Schools. Candidate must be able to relate professionally with clients: students, parents, co-workers, vendors, etc., and must be able to engage clients warmly and authentically. Candidate must be
able to manage a group/classroom environment and prioritize learning objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including, but not limited to the following:


• Organize activities, including crafts, cooking, art and games to engage students.
• Supervise and discipline students during recess, lunch and Extended Day program periods.
• Manage classroom/group learning environment in Homework Club. Assist students in Study Hall and maintain a suitable environment for study.
• Ability to relate professionally and with care to staff, faculty, parents and students. Learn and use names of students and parents.
• Responsible for the safety and well being of student population before or/and after school hours as well as during lunch and recess periods. Assist in the safety of students during parent pick-up and drop-off.
• Team Player who shows willingness to partner, and desire to develop special activities and unique opportunities for students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


PERSONAL APPEARANCE:
Candidate will be a representation of Fairmont Schools and will uphold high dress standards, including following Fairmont approved uniform guidelines, as well as maintain a professional image and repoire with staff, parents and students.

Pay: $18.25 an hour plus benefits


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primarily a field position. Will require standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and stretching. May require physical exertion. May require lifting and carrying objects up to approximately 30 lbs and children up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in a team environment. May be required to perform duties in
inclement weather (sun, rain, etc.).

E-Verify Participation:
