Student Work-Study: HVAC/BCTI

About this role

The HVAC/BCTI work-study student will perform assigned duties related to organizing, preparing, and assisting the HVAC/BCTI department chair and adjuncts to improve the labs, prepare for labs, and reset labs after use.

This is a Logansport Campus position.

  • Ask questions when in doubt
  • Work safely, ask for help if needed
  • Work with adjuncts to determine the most effective way of setting up tool bags and cabinets
  • Assist in cleaning and reorganizing the HVAC tool and materials crib
  • Assist in cleaning and reorganizing the BCTI tool and materials crib
  • Keep the lab clean and organized
  • Assemble shelves
  • Prep the classroom and lab for upcoming classes
  • Reset classroom and labs after the previous day's classes
  • Enter both tool and materials inventory into a spreadsheet
  • Test and repair tools and equipment as needed

Work schedule to be determined after a hire, with consideration to the student's schedule.

Starting Salary Range: $15.00 per hour

Classification: Work Study

General Qualifications:

  • None, but customer service, organizational ability, mechanical aptitude, and experience are a plus

Minimum Federal Work Study Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or Equivalent.
  • Student must have completed the current FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need.
  • Maintain a minimum of 1 credit hour or more of enrollment in eligible courses.
  • Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status.
  • The student cannot have any incomplete financial aid requirements.
