Role Overview: The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a hands-on contributor within PARts' data operations function, responsible for processing, validating, and maintaining catalogue data to the quality and timeliness standards that customers depend on. The role sits within the Philippines-based offshore team and executes the day-to-day data work that keeps the PARts platform accurate and complete across all supported standards. In simpler terms, this is the role that works the data — processing catalogue records, responding to customer queries, and making sure every update is accurate before it reaches a customer. Key accountabilities: 3.1 Catalogue data processing • Process and maintain catalogue data across all supported standards, including TecAlliance/TecDoc, ACES/PIES, and proprietary formats. • Execute data tasks assigned by the SME Team Lead, including xType mappings and maintaining cross standard data accuracy. • Complete peer reviews of data work produced by other team members. 3.2 PARts Help Desk (PHD) • Triage and respond to customer data queries and escalations via the PARts Help Desk in Jira Service Management (JSM). • Handle Level 1 support requests such as brand creation requests, data supplier feedback, data standard feedback, 99x management, and Console support queries. • Escalate complex issues to the SME Team Lead or Data Operations Manager as needed. 3.3 Customer Data Requests (CDR) • Support the execution of Customer Data Requests, including SQL-based bulk updates and quality assurance of CDR outputs. • Follow established CDR processes, including linking tickets to originating PHD requests. • Ensure data integrity through the use of prescribed scripts and validation steps before delivery. 3.4 Data quality assurance • Own the accuracy and completeness of own data work, reviewing outputs against established thresholds. • Participate in peer review workflows and cross-check catalogue data across standards and migration workflows. • Flag data anomalies or errors to the SME Team Lead. 3.5 Documentation and knowledge capture • Follow and update runbooks, process guides, and training materials as workflows evolve. • Capture knowledge from day-to-day work so that processes remain transferable across the team. Skills and competencies: 4.1 Technical • Demonstrated experience working with structured data across multiple standards or formats (e.g. TecDoc, ACES/PIES, or similar automotive or industrial data standards). • Experience with SQL for data querying, manipulation, and bulk update operations. • Familiarity with help desk or service management tools (e.g. Jira Service Management) for triaging and resolving data-related queries. • Experience in peer review, quality assurance, or data validation workflows; exposure to cross referencing and mapping methodologies across catalogues or data sets is desirable. 4.2 Behavioural • Attention to detail and a personal standard of accuracy and completeness in data work. • Disciplined adherence to prescribed workflows, scripts, and validation steps, with complete ticket documentation and time logging. • Clear written communication for customer-facing ticket responses and internal documentation. • Willingness to learn, take on increasingly complex tasks, and share knowledge within the team. Qualifications and experience: • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a data operations, data management, or catalogue data processing role, or a comparable technical environment. • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or equivalent tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field), or equivalent qualifications or demonstrated technical competency through alternative pathways. • Desirable: experience in the automotive aftermarket parts industry or a related data-intensive domain; familiarity with data processing tools and platforms such as DPM, Bulk Importer, or equivalent; working knowledge of data governance principles and documentation practices; prior experience in an offshore or distributed team environment.
