Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, the Industrial & Construction (I&C) Commercial Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and Commercial Coordination for Industrial Medium Voltage products to ensure customer satisfaction, operational efficiencies, and judicious management of working capital (finished goods, work in process, and raw materials). This position will lead the coordination of the Business, Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to develop synergies in demand forecasting and customer integration, create specific production plans supporting market needs and analyze manufacturing loading and capacity models to ensure effective outcomes.
Job Objectives:
Supply Chain Planning & Operational Execution
- Develop sales and operations plans for the Industrial Medium Volt products optimizing cost, working capital, and customer satisfaction
- Manage priorities and changes in the production plan to optimize customer service levels and operational efficiencies
- Maintain the production plan/schedule on a daily/weekly basis for selected product lines following the Sales Orders priorities and backlog
- Centralized point of contact for medium voltage supply and demand coordination and appropriate communication of manufacturing progress
- Plan timely purchase of the raw materials and finished goods to comply with the assigned stock level policies designed
- Facilitate the production plan and deliveries of product from international manufacturing sites
- Analyze sales of stock products to create an effective ABC classification and establish root causes for slow moving inventory
- Develop DIO target stock program & maintain balance of inventory in network
- Review delivery performance metrics and investigate root causes
Commercial Coordination & Customer Support
- Work with commercial leadership to manage order intake and supply commitments through blanket order planning and release program
- Manage final release of sales orders in coordination with commercial project management team to ensure correct plant/part number and sales order dating alignment
- Customer facing point of contact with the commercial team to actively discuss stocking programs and participate in kickoff calls for capital projects
- Collaborate with the commercial team to support quotations and capacity timing for major capital projects
- Partner with commercial in providing data to third party logistics companies to appropriately schedule project deliveries & minimize transportation costs
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of supply chain, warehousing, or distribution experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or Business
- Experience with ERP systems (experience with SAP Cable Solutions wire and cable industry module a definite plus)
- Materials planning and scheduling experience, preferably in cable manufacturing environment
- APICS and Six Sigma Certifications are a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily with limited supervision
- Willingness to work varying hours in critical situations
