Support Engineer 1 - Data Science

Scope: 

  • As a Support Engineer, you will be a key player in onboarding clients onto Blue Yonder’s Luminate Planning suite of solutions and providing ongoing support through our Data Science as a Service (DSaaS) offering.  

  • Our team currently consists of approximately 50 associates in India, part of a larger global team spanning the US and Germany, and is poised for rapid growth.  

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential, as you will mentor junior team members. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Select, build, and optimize classifiers using advanced machine learning techniques. 

  • Conduct data mining using cutting-edge methods and tools. 

  • Integrate third-party data sources to enhance the company’s datasets when necessary. 

  • Refine data collection procedures to ensure relevant data is available for analytic systems. 

  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. 

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results clearly to stakeholders. 

  • Address customer concerns regarding forecasting issues and data quality, and build utilities to perform forecasting checks. 

What we are looking for:  

  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, K-Means Clustering, Naive Bayes). 

  • Proficiency in data science toolkits such as Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn (expertise in at least two is required). 

  • Experience in supply chain concepts and statistical analysis. 

  • Knowledge of operations research concepts, including integer, linear, and stochastic programming. 

  • Strong critical and operational thinking skills. 

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Streamlit and Power BI. 

  • Proficiency in query languages such as SQL and Snowflake, or Python-based SQL wrappers. 

  • Solid grounding in applied statistics, including distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis. 

  • Bonus skills: familiarity with Dask/parallel processing, Airflow orchestration tools, Postman/API integration. 

  • Strong scripting and programming capabilities. 

  • Data-driven mindset with an eye for detail. 

Educational Background: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science. 

Experience: 

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
