About this role

GFY is seeking a Rod person interested in being part of an influential work environment. This position will primarily assist survey crews on a variety of different projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Standing and walking through woods, swamps, roadways, private property, riverbanks, etc., for various amounts of time while holding or carrying equipment ranging from 10-50 pounds
  • Perform general labor tasks for 2–3-person survey field crews
  • Clears brush with the use of a machete, holds rods to measure horizontal and vertical distances, and elevations
  • Carry traffic cones for MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) (four cones = 48lbs), carry and set concrete monuments (30-50 lbs.), and iron pins using a sledgehammer (4-8 lbs.)
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work site environment for all survey crewmembers
  • Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual
  • Responsible for caring for and maintaining all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) issued by the company
  • Out-of-town travel may be required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Team player who is self-motivated but can work independently as needed
