Job Overview:

Job Summary:**

The Survey Technician II will assist survey crews in various aspects of land surveying, including data collection, instrument operation, and basic computations, to support Primoris Services Corporation's construction and engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying principles and the ability to work effectively in diverse field environments.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Operate and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
* Assist the Party Chief with field data collection, stakeout, and monumentation.
* Perform basic calculations and adjustments of survey data under supervision.
* Read and interpret engineering plans, survey plats, and construction drawings.
* Maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and other documentation.
* Transport and set up survey equipment safely and efficiently.
* Clear lines of sight and establish control points as directed.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
* Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Party Chief or Survey Manager.

Job Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
* 2-4 years of experience in land surveying or a related field.
* Proficient in the operation of total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
* Basic understanding of surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center) is a plus.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain.
* Valid driver's license and a good driving record required.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
