About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on System Engineer to support our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with server and desktop hardware, Linux system administration, and foundational networking, and will play a key role in keeping our infrastructure reliable, well-documented, and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and deploy servers, desktops, and workstations
- Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, and servers
- Perform hardware upgrades, troubleshooting, and component replacement
- Manage IT asset inventory, including hardware tracking and documentation
- Install and configure Linux operating systems and perform basic system administration
- Configure and troubleshoot basic networking, including IP addressing, routing, VLANs, and network connectivity
- Understand and troubleshoot common networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, NTP, and SNMP
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, RMA, and support
- Maintain documentation for hardware, software, and infrastructure changes
Required Skills
- Experience assembling and troubleshooting server and desktop hardware
- Good knowledge of Linux administration (RHEL/Ubuntu preferred)
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of computer networking and networking protocols
- Familiarity with switches, routers, and firewall concepts
- Good troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a High-Frequency Trading (HFT) or low-latency trading environment
- Familiarity with enterprise server hardware (Dell, Supermicro, Lenovo, HPE, etc.)
- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, VMware, or KVM
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and infrastructure best practices
