Tax Manager, FRC Tax Transformation

Seattle, United States of AmericaOn-siteFull-timeMid · 5+ yearsH1B likely

About this role

Amazon is seeking a talented Tax Manager to join its Foreign Reporting & Compliance (FRC) Tax Transformation team. The Amazon tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment. This role sits at the intersection of tax, technology, and process, driving global standardization and automation across Amazon's foreign tax reporting landscape. You will help design and build Amazon's foreign tax platform: the tools, data standards, and processes that let foreign tax teams operate faster and at scale. If you are energized by turning fragmented, manual processes into standardized, automated global systems, this is your opportunity to own transformation on a worldwide stage.

Key job responsibilities
- Analyze upstream and downstream foreign tax data and processes to identify standardization and automation opportunities, then drive simplification and integration across foreign entities
- Define and own global data and process standards for foreign tax reporting
- Own requirements for automated tools and reduce manual touchpoints so foreign owners work faster at scale
- Design the process framework, controls, and training content that support foreign tax owners
- Lead change-management communications with foreign teams to drive adoption of new and revised processes
- Partner closely with Tax Technology and Worldwide Provision to build global integration tools and processes
- Coordinate joint standardization and automation projects with global accounting teams
- Communicate status and risks to Tax Leadership, translating complex work plan into clear, actionable decisions

A day in the life
As a Tax Manager on FRCTT, you'll move between deep process analysis and hands-on solution building. Your day might include mapping an upstream data flow to expose standardization gaps, scoping an automated tool with Tax Technology, reviewing and signing off on automated rules, and walking a foreign tax team through a revised process. You'll translate on-the-ground pain points into global standards, align cross-functional partners in Provision and Technology on integration design, and keep Tax Leadership informed on progress and risks. You'll own outcomes end-to-end, from identifying the opportunity, to building the solution, to landing adoption with the teams who depend on it.

About the team
FRC Tax Transformation (FRCTT) develops, implements, and owns process optimization, controls, and technology automation for the FRC organization. We are a strategic transformation function committed to establishing the operating standards, tools, and data architecture that scale Amazon's foreign tax reporting. We partner across Tax Technology, Worldwide Provision, and global accounting teams to modernize how foreign tax work gets done. You'll join colleagues who are passionate about solving complex, cross-border tax challenges and building scalable, automated systems that help accelerate reporting cycles with controllership.
