Job Title - Data Modeler
Experience - 8-12 Years
Relevant Experience - 5+ Years
Location – Bengaluru and Chennai
Key Responsibilities
• Create and maintain ER diagrams, data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and mapping documents.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Architects, ETL Developers, and Project Teams to gather and analyze data requirements.
• Design dimensional models including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for analytics and reporting solutions.
• Support ETL development teams by defining source-to-target mappings and validating transformation logic.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
Mandatory Skills
• Strong hands-on experience in Data Modeling and Database Design.
• Strong experience in Data Warehouse Modeling, Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema design.
• Experience with ERwin Data Modeler or equivalent data modeling tools.
• Experience in creating ER Diagrams, Data Dictionaries, Metadata Repositories and Source-to-Target Mapping documents.
• Experience in optimizing data models for query performance for large-volume transactional/data warehouse environments.
• Good knowledge of RDBMS/NoSql database platforms and cloud planform such as:
o Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL
o AWS/Azure/GCP
• Experience with modern data warehouse platforms:
o Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery/Databricks
Preferred Skills
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience in data migration and modernization projects.
• Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of Lakehouse Architecture and Modern Data Platforms.
• Experience with OLTP and OLAP environments.
• Exposure to Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata Management solutions.
Nice to Have
• Exposure to data migration and cloud modernization projects.
• Understanding of Data Mesh, Lakehouse, and Modern Data Architecture concepts.
