Technical Team Lead

What you will do on your journey with WebBeds. 

As a Technical Team Leader, you will lead a self-managed delivery team to design, build, and support innovative cloud solutions that power WebBeds’ global travel platform. This involves guiding software engineers, QA engineers, product owners, and business analysts through the full delivery lifecycle, from user story definition and planning to deployment and ongoing support. 

This role calls for a collaborative and technically strong leader who combines hands-on engineering expertise with the ability to mentor and empower others. You will foster a culture of continuous learning, engineering excellence, and wellbeing, helping the team reach new levels while delivering resilient, high-quality products that create real value for our customers. 

In this role you will: 

Key responsibilities 

• Team leadership: Lead and guide a self-managed delivery team, nurturing a cohesive, high-performing environment built on trust, teamwork, and collaboration. 

• Team ceremonies: Participate actively in team ceremonies, contributing to user story definition, planning, and clear communication with stakeholders. 

• People development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth that supports individual and collective development alongside personal and professional wellbeing. 

• Mentorship: Provide mentorship and hands-on support through code reviews, technical guidance, retrospectives, and constructive feedback. 

• Technical excellence: Engineer top-tier products using WebBeds’ approved technology stack, adhering to best practices and promoting its adoption across the team. 

• Continuous delivery: Drive a continuous integration and delivery approach, ensuring applications are resilient and available around the clock. 

• Product ownership: Demonstrate strong ownership across the full product lifecycle, from development through deployment and beyond. 

• Incident management: Engage proactively in incident management and error resolution, promoting effective problem-solving and continuous improvement. 

• Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with architecture, platform engineering, integrations, and application support teams to achieve shared goals. 

• Quality and security: Embed a security-first mindset and comprehensive unit testing, partnering with QA engineers to build a fully automated testing landscape. 

The skills we would love to see in your suitcase! 

• A minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with proven leadership in guiding technical teams. 

• Strong proficiency across multiple programming languages relevant to the team’s projects, with the ability to guide and support others. 

• Experience designing and architecting software systems, including selecting the right language for each component. 

• Demonstrated expertise in clean coding and mastery of SOLID design principles. 

• Solid knowledge of security principles and best practices to keep code secure and protected against vulnerabilities. 

• A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies and best practices. 

• A self-driven, growth-oriented mindset with genuine curiosity for learning. 

• Proven ability to lead and mentor team members through complex technical challenges. 

• A collaborative approach, comfortable working within a self-organised team and sharing responsibilities. 

• Fluent written and spoken English.
