Business Overview
The Technology Management Division (TMD) provides Corporate IT, and Cyber Security & Privacy Governance to Rakuten Group companies and essential business management for technology organizations, thereby enabling innovation and strengthening the technology foundation. Within TMD, the Technology Management Services Supervisory Department (TMSSD) plays a vital role in CIO Governance, IT financial management, IT procurement, Quality Management System (QMS), technology-related public relations, and human resources strategy. By promoting efficiency, quality, risk management, and organizational strength, we ensure that Tech Divisions remain agile and at the forefront of technological advancement.  

Department Overview

The IT Strategy Department (ITSD) is responsible for formulating and executing Rakuten Group's overarching IT strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services, and optimizing customer satisfaction. The department's primary functions include strategic planning and alignment, IT governance, quality management, and public relations for Rakuten's technical departments. ITSD oversees group-wide and tech community-wide initiatives, with a focus on managing strategically important programs.

The Technology Improvement Group, within the CIO Office, helps improve how the Technology organization operates by strengthening governance, performance management, and internal digital solutions.

We are looking for a Technology Analyst to support operational excellence across the Technology Division. This role plays a key part in strengthening organizational performance by improving reporting, enhancing internal digital solutions, and enabling reliable, data-driven decision making.

Our goal is to continuously improve how the Technology organization operates by building simple, scalable, and effective management practices that increase transparency, operational efficiency, and business value.

 

Position Details

This role is responsible for owning the business operation and continuous improvement of the Technology Division's executive dashboards and performance reporting platforms. You will partner with business stakeholders and development teams to deliver reporting enhancements, manage system changes, ensure data quality, and support internal digital solutions that enable better decision-making and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Management & Reporting

・Manage executive dashboards and performance reports.

・Support KPI and OKR reporting using BI tools and SQL.

・Identify reporting improvements and insights for leadership.

2. Strategic Initiatives & Process Improvement

・Support strategic initiatives and organizational improvement programs led by the CIO Office.

・Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, digital solutions, and continuous improvement.

・Translate business requirements into actionable items from an IT perspective.

3. Digital Solutions & Product Support

・Own the business operation of reporting platforms and internal tools.

・Gather business requirements and work with development teams to deliver enhancements.

・Support backlog management, testing (UAT), and change implementation.

4. Executive Communications & Stakeholder Management

・Prepare executive reports and presentations.

・Collaborate with stakeholders across the Technology Division to drive continuous improvement.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

・4 to 6 years of experience in Business Analysis, Business Operations, Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics, Performance Management, or a related field.

・Experience with BI platforms (e.g., Domo, Tableau).

Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of ETL or data integration concepts.

・Experience gathering business requirements and collaborating with development teams.

・Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and communication skills.

・English: Working proficiency. (TOEIC Score 900+ or possess equivalent abilities).

・Japanese: Native or bilingual proficiency.

Desired Qualifications:

・Experience supporting internal business applications or digital products.

・Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, or Confluence.

・Experience within a CIO Office, PMO, or technology organization.

・Familiarity with AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude).
