About this role

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for an Electronic Test Equipment Engineer to join our Engineering team where you'll provide support with specialist equipment repairs, modifications and new build. This role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham site.

The Role:

Join Ontic as an Electronic Test Equipment Engineer and play a vital role in supporting the maintenance and development of complex electronic test systems used in the manufacture and repair of aerospace products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fault finding, repairing, maintaining, upgrading automated and manual electronic test equipment to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability. You will play a key role in supporting production, introducing new products and continuously improving test capability.

About you:

To be considered for the Test Equipment Engineer role we are looking for a candidate with HNC/HND or Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline who also has a proven experience fault finding complex electronic equipment to component level.

You will also have experience in maintaining automated electronic test equipment within a manufacturing environment or similar and a strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic circuits.

You will have the ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings along with hands on experience of using electronic test instruments, soldering and electronic rework

You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative Team so excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are critical as well as a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

If you have experience in Aerospace, Defence or Safety-Critical industry experience this would be highly desirable. As well as :

Experience supporting Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

Familiarity with National Instruments (NI) hardware or PXI-based systems and LabVIEW.

Knowledge of RF, microwave or power electronics.

Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
