Position Summary:
We are seeking a Tool Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Pune. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of tooling and fixtures, with a focus on plastic welding technologies and manufacturing excellence. You will play a key role in new product development and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and innovative engineering solutions.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Analyze existing tooling designs using CAD tools and implement improvements for efficiency and performance
- Develop and test prototypes for new tooling and fixture designs
- Collaborate with manufacturing plants to understand challenges and resolve technical issues
- Execute engineering change orders (ECOs) and design updates as required
- Design work holding fixtures and tooling solutions for various welding technologies with optimized inputs
- Support new product development (NPD) by contributing to design and development of components and assemblies
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and build detailed assembly documentation for tooling designs
- Upgrade legacy drawings and models to current CAD platforms and standards
- Ensure timely completion of projects while meeting both defined and evolving requirements
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in ERP systems such as Oracle
- Adhere to organizational quality systems and engineering standards
- Take ownership of additional responsibilities aligned with business needs
